Have you ever wondered what your purpose is at this stage of your life?
For many people, life changes dramatically after 50. Children grow up and leave home. Careers begin to wind down. Retirement may be just around the corner, or it may already be part of your life.
And sometimes, with all those changes, we find ourselves asking:
“What’s next for me?”
The answer may be closer than you think.
Purpose doesn’t have to mean starting a big business, becoming famous, or accomplishing something extraordinary.
Sometimes it’s found in the simple things.
It’s spending more time with your grandchildren, helping someone in need, serving in your community, learning a new skill, or sharing the knowledge you’ve gained over a lifetime.
Purpose is about having something meaningful that gives you a reason to get up each morning with enthusiasm.
Here are a few ways to begin discovering yours:
- Revisit an old hobby or passion you’ve set aside.
- Volunteer or find ways to help others.
- Set a personal goal that excites you.
- Share your experiences and wisdom with someone who could benefit from them.
- Make time for the people and activities that bring you joy.
You don’t have to compare your journey with anyone else’s. Your purpose is personal, and it can change as your life changes.
The important thing is to keep growing, learning, giving, and enjoying the journey.
This can help.
Take a few minutes today to ask yourself: “What would make my life more meaningful right now?”
You might be surprised by the answer.
Make it a great day!
